Food Intolerance Test

Food intolerance is a condition with a mixture of symptoms and can be difficult to recognise and diagnose. Those affected often suffer for years without knowing the proper steps to take, unable to enjoy normal life and activities and in some cases, unable to work. Using the scientifically proven and precise ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) testing method, the YorkTest FoodScan 113 food intolerance test identifies raised levels of food-specific IgG antibodies. By identifying foods to which an individual has had a reaction, it is used to 'fast track' the elimination diet and challenge process. It can remove the guess work and therefore significantly speed up the whole process of diagnosing food intolerances.

Liver Check Test

How do you know if you are drinking too much? Everybody is different and there are various factors such as age, weight, and gender that can affect how alcohol is processed in the body and how it can affect it. Even standard advice could sometimes be pushing your body's ability to process alcohol. Combine this with other lifestyle factors such as diet and medication, and you could be causing damage that you are unaware of. The Liver Check Test is a quick and easy 100% test that delivers reliable laboratory test results within just 10 days.

Candida Test

There are such wide range of conditions associated with Candida overgrowth that accurate diagnosis of Candidiasis cannot be made on the basis of symptoms alone. The only way to diagnose a Candida overgrowth is to carry out specific tests aimed at detecting the presence of the organism. A pin-prick blood sample is required. Results are available within 10 working days.

People with an overgrowth of Candida albicans are often predisposed to food intolerance. To help achieve lasting health, it is recommended any food intolerances are identified.

Vitamin D Test

Vitamin D deficiency can be a serious problem and does not have very obvious symptoms. It increases susceptibility to other more serious conditions. Maintaining Vitamin D levels protects the body from a wide range of diseases including viruses, cardiovascular disease, bone disease including osteoporosis, rickets and osteomalcia, autoimmune disease (such as multiple sclerosis and rheumatoid arthritis), strokes, nervous system disorders (such as Parkinson's Disease) and type 1 and 2 diabetes. Depression and breast, prostate and colon cancer have also been linked to Vitamin D deficiency. The test requires just a pin-prick blood sample. Results are available within 10-15 working days.

H.pylori Test

While an endoscopy is the traditional method of detecting the presence of H.pylori, the distribution of the organism is patchy within the gut lining and the bacteria can be missed. Infection by H.pylori generally elicits a strong immune response and it is now possible to reliably detect H.pylori antibodies in the blood using ELISA technology. This method is an inexpensive and non-invasive alternative to endoscopy. A pin-prick blood sample is required. Results are available within 10 working days.

Parasite Screen Test

A parasite is an organism which exploits any other live animal for nutrition. In most cases, the parasitic process causes harm to the host through the actual removal of the nutrients, or by carrying other diseases into the body. When you take the test we will give you the stool collection kit with comprehensive instructions for use. Samples need to be taken on 3 different days, and put into the pots provided containing a preservative. On the final day a sample is also taken. Samples are subjected to a microscopic examination using specific strains to highlight any parasite species. We use state of the art microscope photography to record the presence of any parasites, and will report back the presence of any species detected. It is key that the parasite is correctly determined, as this will have important implications for any therapy. The results of our investigation will be returned to you within 10 working days.

Autoimmune Thyroid Disease Test

Autoimmune disease of the thyroid is detected by testing for antibodies in the blood that attack the thyroid gland. The Autoantibody Thyroid Test uses ELISA technology to measure autoantibodies to human thyroid peroxidase (TPO). Only a pin-prick blood sample is required. Results are available within 10 working days.
