Kareen has completed 4 years advanced training in Transactional Analysis with the Counselling & Psychotherapy Training Institute in Edinburgh where she obtained a Diploma in Transactional Analysis Counselling validated by COSCA. She is currently working towards becoming a Certified Transactional Analyst with psychotherapy speciality.
Kareen is a registered trainee practitioner with the Institute of Transactional Analysis (ITA) and a member of the International Transactional Analysis Association and adheres to the ethical codes of the ITA and the UK Council for Psychotherapy.
She is also working towards becoming an Accredited Coach with the International Coach Federation and is a member of and adheres to the ethical code of that organisation. She also has completed 2 years of Developmental Transactional Analysis training.
Kareen's background is in law and business having a law degree and Diploma in Legal Practice from Edinburgh University. She was a partner in a large law firm and director of a Scottish property consulting company. During her 20 years in law and business Kareen was also involved in many charitable organisations.
Kareen's approach to Coaching, Counselling and Psychotherapy is influenced by Transactional Analysis. She believes the key to success is based on the relationship between client and coach/counsellor/therapist. Within that relationship clients can gain an understanding of whatever problem they seek to resolve and how best to deal with it.
For the last 36 months Kareen has worked extensively with clients suffering from Post Natal Depression, however she also works with a wide range of other issues including anxiety/stress, grief, relationships, self-esteem/confidence and with couples.
